JAMES HALLIDAY: "Dense, impenetrable purple, both the bouquet and full bodied palate are all about power and concentration, yet the wine is not unduly extractive, and there is no doubt about its long fermentation, luscious black fruits are tempered by ripe tannins and oak, the finish long and satisfying." RATING: 95/100 POINTS

JAMES HALLIDAY: "Crimson-purple;...a potent bouquet of black fruits, spice and licorice is followed by a full-bodied palate loaded with dark fruits, the oak- while obvious- is balanced by the fruits and tannins." RATING: 94/100 POINTS

JAMES HALLIDAY: "Similar to the Reserve; a complex bouquet of blackberry, plum, licorice, warm spice and oak leads into a medium-bodied palate with plentyful, maybe too plentiful, oak and a spicy, svoury finish punctuated by tannins."  RATING: 94/100 POINTS

JAMES HALLIDAY: "Purple-crimson; the fragrant bouquet has gentle spice notes to the underlying plum and blackberry fruit that also drives the elegant medium-bodied palate; the wine has a delicious fruit lift to the long finish. Great outcome for a drought year."  RATING: 95/100 POINTS

For the love & passion of Wine

The origin of the word Asmara comes from Hennie's  native country Indonesia meaning Love & Passion.

And Domaine has nothing to do with "domain name" on the internet. In our world ... Domaine reaches to the roots of the French term wine estate.

"It has been my childhood dream to have a vineyard.

At the age of 12 years, I made fruit wines from various berries. Some were collected from the wild (blackberries), some were from our own garden (gooseberries, strawberries, red current, black current).

This was great fun, but what was missing was a vineyard to grow grapes and make the “real stuff”…

We evaluated various wine growing regions within Australia and found our new place of belonging ... the Heathocte wine region. The terroir here is ideally suited for elegant Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon ... something we were looking for.

Once we purchased the vineyard, the idea of having a cellar door came up. And then the idea of having a bistro was born. It just fell into place like it was always meant to happen"

- Andreas Greiving
